Mobilio, an AI robot platform company located in Pangyo Techno Valley and led by CEO Jin-Sik Lee, aims to create robots that work alongside humans in industrial settings. In an interview, CEO Lee emphasized Mobilio\u2019s vision of Physical AI, stating, \u201cWe are a company that develops not just the body of a robot, but also its brain, enabling it to judge and act in the physical world autonomously.\u201d<\/p>

Founded in September 2020, Mobilio is a startup specializing in industrial Physical AI platforms that integrate artificial intelligence and robotics. The company has established a corporate entity in McLean, Virginia, to enter the North American market and operates a liaison office in Nagasaki, Japan, thereby expanding its global reach. As of October 2025, Mobilio employs 11 staff members and has proprietary core technologies for autonomous driving, including SLAM, autonomous navigation, and sensor fusion algorithms.<\/p>

The company\u2019s flagship product is the quadruped robot LITE 3. LITE 3, powered by high-output joint motors and sophisticated walking algorithms, boasts maneuverability that can ascend and descend stairs, traverse slopes, and even perform jumps and backflips.<\/p>

Built on the same platform, various versions are available, including models for research and development, industrial applications, autonomous driving specialized with LiDAR sensors, and entertainment. APIs and SDKs are also provided for research and service development. Users can control LITE 3 via a dedicated app, joystick, or voice commands, and the robot learns to recognize its surroundings, enabling autonomous navigation and obstacle avoidance while moving.<\/p>

CEO Lee Jin-Sik describes LITE 3 as \u201ca robot that has taken another step closer to being like a dog running around and a human understanding situations.\u201d He explains that while previous robots were limited to performing pre-programmed actions triggered by human button presses, Physical AI enables robots to perceive their environment, learn from data, and modify their behavior based on that learning. \u201cOne might think of the movie Terminator,\u201d Lee stated, \u201cbut our aim is not to replace humans, but rather to be a colleague working alongside them.\u201d<\/p>

This perspective underpins his view of robots in industrial safety. Industrial sites are becoming increasingly complex and dangerous, while the young labor force is dwindling. Humans, fatigued by long hours, are prone to mistakes, but robots can perform the same tasks repeatedly for 24 hours a day with just a battery recharge. CEO Lee noted, \u201cBy deploying robots like LITE 3 into hazardous areas instead of humans, the risk of accidents can be significantly reduced.\u201d<\/p>

Mobilio is developing various industrial solutions based on robot platforms like LITE 3. Key examples include 360 TWIN, which creates digital twins by capturing site footage with a 360-degree camera; Navigate X, which generates real-time maps by fusing LiDAR and camera data to help robots find their way; AI Inspector, which uses AI vision to detect cracks, damage, gas leaks, and worker safety status; and Logis X, which performs inspections and patrols in logistics warehouses by recognizing labels and barcodes. These solutions hold significant potential for application in demanding work environments across industries such as shipbuilding, construction, manufacturing, logistics and distribution, power plants, and steel production.<\/p>

Furthermore, Mobilio collects real-time environmental data, including vibration, temperature, humidity, fine dust, and gas concentrations, from over 80 types of wireless IoT sensors. This data is analyzed in the integrated dashboard i-mobilio to detect early signs of equipment malfunctions. When necessary, robots like LITE 3 are deployed for detailed on-site inspections, thereby establishing a safety net connecting people, robots, and sensors. In some locations, specialized robot solutions are also being tested to assist with last-mile delivery and fire suppression.<\/p>

This technological prowess has fostered both domestic and international partnerships. Mobilio conducts joint research with government-funded research institutes, universities, and domestic and international robot manufacturers, leveraging infrastructure in Seongnam and Incheon. The company is also building project references with companies across various industrial sectors, including shipbuilding, heavy industries, automotive, glass, and logistics. CEO Jin-Sik Lee explained, \u201cOur goal is to combine the expertise of each industrial site with our Physical AI technology to create truly beneficial solutions.\u201d<\/p>

Mobilio is already connected to the global robotics ecosystem, exporting LITE 3 and its self-developed AI engine to overseas markets like Thailand and Mexico. CEO Lee stated, \u201cWhile many countries around the world manufacture robot hardware, the \u2018brain\u2019 technology that enables robots to think and move autonomously still has limited suppliers. Mobilio aims to establish itself as a provider of precisely that \u2018brain\u2019.\u201d<\/p>

Mobilio recently earned external recognition for its technological capabilities by winning a CES 2026 Innovation Award. The company plans to showcase an even more advanced LITE 3 and industrial safety solutions at CES 2026. CEO Lee predicted, \u201cWhen computers first emerged, only a few experts used them, but now they are essential tools used by everyone in their daily lives. In the near future, an era will come where a robot naturally coexists in every home or workplace.\u201d<\/p>

He lauded Pangyo Techno Valley as \u201cthe Korean Silicon Valley,\u201d assessing it as \u201cthe optimal environment for collaboration, networking, and preparing for global expansion due to its concentration of tech startups and talent.\u201d He added, \u201cKorea already possesses world-class manufacturing and ICT capabilities. Mobilio aspires to be the bridge connecting Physical AI robots within this ecosystem, contributing to making Korea a hub for robot AI.\u201d<\/p>

Mobilio\u2019s Physical AI robots, centered around LITE 3, aim to replace dangerous tasks, enhance industrial safety, and, in the long term, become companions that assist human life and daily routines. The realization of Mobilio\u2019s vision\u2014where robots are partners working alongside humans, rather than replacements\u2014remains a focal point.<\/p>
